Thankful Thursday

So on this rainy Thursday I have several things to be thankful for!

The first is my bed...

lack of sleep does not even come close to describing my current state. I have not been sleeping well at all. On Tuesday night I went to bed at 4 AM and the alarm went off at 5:30 to take Eric to the airport. So my bed is where I reside at this moment.PS... i feel the need to tell you that this is not my bed or bedding, but during my sleepless nights I fell in love with this from Pottery Barn

My mom's embroidery machine...

as many of you know this has become a business for me. I worked yesterday from 9:00 AM until 11:45 PM with only a stop for lunch and dinner. The saddest thing is I am still NOT caught up. Although I am so much closer than before. I am so thankful for my parents willingness to let me come "work". All that working didn't help my lack of sleep but I will get caught up. (SIDE NOTE... I am also thankful for my inlaws who took care of John Hunter ALL day.... I mean i saw him for a total of 30 min.)

Tonight I am going here with the girls from my Bible Study. I kinda feel like it is a first date because I don't go out with just the girls and no kiddos often. What a treat. John Hunter is staying here with Nana and Big Daddy and then I will go pick up Eric from the airport. I am thankful for these girls and good food!

Miss Patty Cake Christmas....

No one lie here. You know you are thrilled Miss Patty Cake has a Christmas movie. I mean who cares that you will have to listen to it 1 MILLION times between now and the birth of our LORD.... hey whatever makes them happy. And it our case Miss Pat Pat does the trick!

John Hunter's Second Birthday

Today we celebrated John Hunter's second birthday. We had a football party and we cheered on the Vikings to a victory! Thanks to everyone who celebrated with us. John Hunter had such a fun time.







Last night we decorated the house so when he woke up this morning he was so excited to see all the footballs. Granddad and I did the cake and it was a huge hit(not to mention that there is a lot left over).




The kiddos had a great time playing in the bounce house, balling ball, and just being kids. It is really hard to believe that my baby is 2. He is such a big boy and a great addition to our family! We love him so much and Eric and I were saying today how we could not imagine our lives without him.

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday we went to the Pumpkin patch with Jen, Carson, and Baby Brady along with Jen's friend Shannon and her little on Conner. The pumpkin patch was a huge hit. I made Ivy and John Hunter coordinating outfits... of course. And then I acessorized with glasses, a belt, and hairbow.... how fun are little girls. I love that Ivy girl.


We had a great time and got some wonderful pictures. Carson and John Hunter had a great time running and playing "socks" or cornhole as adults call it. And Ivy looked so cute no matter where she went. Brady was perfect and even let me put him in the wagon to get some good photos. Conner was a sweetheart and so cute.



We ate lunch, played with the pumpkins, and I really wanted to go down the slide but the school fieldtrips made that a little difficult. We are going to have to go another time.

Thankful Thursday....

I am stealing this idea from Sarah;s blog.... So every, or hopefully every Thursday I will list the things I am THANKFUL for today!

1) The pumpkin patch.


I will post more on this later, but here is some fun from the pumpkin patch today.

2) My husband

He works really hard for us and Thursday's are his late day. He has been working a lot lately and I know he does it to provide for JH and I, and I really appreciate all that he does.(Also cause he just left for the store to get some ice cream for me!!!)

3) Rowenta Iron

So along with a new puppy comes some things getting destroyed. Our iron was one of those. In the wake of the broken iron I gave up ironing... which was not that hard. However yesterday the forementioned wonderful man "GENTLY" reminded me that he had to have a shirt to wear everyday. So last night i went and borrowed my parents iron. It is WONDERFUL. I did iron until 2 am this morning but i still thought the iron was amazing, or maybe i was just sleep deprived.


4) Jumper Cables

My parents came home from the trip tonight and took little man and I to dinner while Eric worked late. On the way home we stopped at the store and when we went to leave... my car would not start. So sweet man which jumper cables helped this sister out I could not have been more appreciative.

2 year old Pictures

John Hunter will be 2 on Monday.... we are so excited and cannot believe how time has flown by. So I had his pictures taken yesterday by Allie Major (she was amazing... when I saw them I started to cry). Thanks so much Allie. Now I have to say that there are several photos and I love all of them. So I am only putting up six right now.... I will add some more later... or if you want to see the whole album let me know and I will send it to you!

Brave Retreat 2008

So it has offically come and gone and there is a part of me that is sad, or maybe I am just oh so sleepy! We had an awesome retreat and we had over 250 amazing women who gathered and it was evident that the LORD met us there.

It started Friday afternoon with much preparation.... we got to the hotel got all of our cars unloaded and started to decorate.


And boy did we decorated.


Then we assembled 250 packets including the BRAVE books which were awesome... 30 stories of Brave women who have chosen to change, obey, and serve. These women are near and dear to my heart (and maybe if I get really Brave I will post my story from the book).

After getting everything ready we went upstairs to get ready... how fun was that! I felt like I was in college again, getting ready with 5 other women (and although I missed my boys the only person I had to get ready was me).


The Friday night speaker was Angie Smith. Some of you may have read her blog (www.audreycaroline.blogspot.com) She is an amazing women of God who lost her 2 hour old daughter to a horrible disease. She and her husband Todd (who is the male voice in Selah) brought their 3 daughters and shared their story on how the had they had to be brave in the storm of life. Todd sang two hymns which would tear your up. There was not a dry eye in the room during their story and to quote Angie we all add the ugly cry going:)




When the evening was over we went to the room (oh bless us) We lost our key but between me, Britney, Courtney, and Katie we were too tried to go down and get another one. Eric suggested that we call the front desk, but what was I going to say. Excuse me sir, I am so tried, too fat, and just plain worn out. I have lost my room key and I don't feel like coming down 10 flights on an elevator to retrive a key. So would you please be so kind to bring me up a key. As you can tell this did not happen. So a friend in the room next door went and did the task for us. That may have been the high point. We ordered Jimmy Johns at 1 am because we were so hungry and the alarm went off at 6 (thank you Courtney and Britney)!!!!

The speakers Saturday were awesome, Judy Johnson and Jen Oakes!!! Wow what amazing women. They shared what it means to be truly brave. All in all it was a great retreat and a huge success. I was so honored to be apart of it and look forward to next year!!!
