A mulit-tasking moment

I just looked at my computer screen and thought... wow I have way to many things going on at one time!

Here's what's up on my computer now:
1) Facebook
2) May Lesson Plans for Preschool
3) Hotels for 2 nights in Flordia
4) Birds and the Bees talk for MOPS on Friday
5) Salt and Pepa' playing "Let's talk about Sex" on my itunes
6) A menu sign up sheet for a Dinner Party we are having on May 22
7) And last... an on going list of things that need to be done for Flordia, grocery list, authorization for my parents, maps, etc...

Whew...I'm tired. And when is all this gonna get done. There is something about burning the candle from both ends. But I know that it will all be worth it because two weeks from today you will find me here

Angels In Heaven

So today I made an amazing chocolate cake if I do say so myself.... it is for the Ronald McDonald House and I really hope they like it! I know John Hunter and I had a great time making it... the name of the cake is called Angels in Heaven... I thought I would share the recipe with you, because it is super simple!

1 box yellow cake mix
1 (3 oz.) box instant vanilla pudding
1 (3 oz.) box instant chocolate pudding
4 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 (8 oz.) sour cream
1 cup oil
1/4 cup water
1 (6oz) bag of chocolate chips

MIX all ingredients together, beat until smooth
POUR batter into greased bundt pan
BAKE @ 325 for 50-60 min.

** I sprinkled mine with powdered sugar because presentation is EVERYTHING... but it does not call for it!

It' delicious... can you tell :)

Wonderful Weekend

I know it is just Saturday evening, but I feel the need to express just how wonderful this weekend has been! We have done NOTHING! Yesterday JH and I were home ALLLLL day with the exception of going to the park! And not only did we stay home we turned the TV off ( well when daddy got home we watched the draft) But it was a GOOOOOD day!

Last night I went out by myself and did a little shopping for Eric and I for FL and then went and got some DQ. Well worth the wait in line... that is for sure!

Today we went to swim lessons, and I am proud to announce that JH has been moved up to level 2. Then we went to Costco and did a little family shopping.... we got some good stuff and will be eating healthy... that i the goal of this week! Came home for naps (because had the longest night in the world... long story but lets just say, JH peed on me) And now we are hanging out... again with NO TV. It has been a blast!

TOmorrow we are going to church, watching one of our dearest friends from LEX play soccer then to celebrate on special little girls 5th birthday... What a great time

Gather around the table

When I was a child I remember my parents getting their kitchen table. It has always been a place of food, family, and fellowship. We ate dinner at the table most nights of my childhood. We are alo trying to instill the same for John Hunter. Recently when we moved into our new house and they unloaded our kitchen table I was so emotional when it was put in kitchen. Just made me feel like home... I had not seen it or eaten at it in over a year and it was just a sign of God's faithfulness to our family!

A few months ago my parents purchased a new kitchen table (which I LOVE), and offered us their old one. I was quick to say yes. It was bigger, and I could put 6 chairs around it ... (no our family is not growing but we forever have people over). So last trip home I brought the chairs back, and this week mom called and asked if they could come up for a short visit and bring the table. We quickly said yes!

It was a short but great trip. We had lots of laughs, good food, and some plain ole' fun! And the table has arrived. I cannot wait to make our own family memories around this table... it means the world to me! Thank you mom and dad!
