The Many Faces of John Hunter

I just had to share the pictures of the buddy. He was eating his snack yesterday afternoon after his nap and was in the best mood. I was so excited to take the pictures because of his outfit. Nana and Papa (Eric's grandparents, Papa who is the ORIGINAL John Hunter) gave him this outfit at my first baby shower. So it has been in his closet for a while. He looked like such a little stud wearing it! Thanks Nana and Papa. We were having the best time laughing and such until he saw Eric's video game controller that he is NOT allowed to touch... I think the pics will tell his response!
John Hunter's "girl"friend came over to play the other day. Just for a short lunch and some play time. They were too cute together and played so well. I really was amazed! I was able to even get a few things done since he had a friend to play with. Well here are some pics of his first "date"!

PJ Day

Althought it is only 10:15 AM we have had a fun day of playing in our PJ's all morning. John Hunter is truly on the mends after some great meds from the Dr. for his double ear infection. Poor buddy he is so glad to be back to himself again, and I have to say we are too.
We don't have much planned for the day seeing how it is SO cold and I really can think of anything that would want to make me leave this house other than church tonight. I have so great pics of our PJ day but I have to share a funny story first.

Yesterday Eric met John Hunter and I at the mall for a quick bite of lunch and I needed to return some shoes. John Hunter found out that the kids play area existed so we let him go play (I had to but my obession with germs aside because he was having a BLAST)! He ran and ran through that area. He was struggling to get up on anything, but tried with all his might. There was little boy there named Logan who was about 3 and his grandmother was sitting next to Eric. Logan clearly needed a visit from SuperNanny, he would intentionally find John Hunter and run towards him and plow him down. This happpend about 3 times and John Hunter just got up and kept playing. He would try and climb on some of the toys and Logan would climb up and wait for John Hunter to put his hands down and then stomp on his fingers. Meanwhile, we would redirect John Hunter to play with something else but Logan was persistant. His grandmother, not correcting him at all. So on the third time of John Hunter getting his fingers stepped on.... Eric VERY POLITELY looked at Logan and said, "Logan, why don't you go find someone else to play with." And with that his grandmother gathered their belongings and left. I was so GLAD! It was the frist time I ever wanted to yell at another child I didn't know. Eric said he had had enough and he gave the grandmother ample times to correct him, so since she didn't Eric did. As the walked alway Logan turned towards Eric and growled! Oh well....

Anyways, here are some fun photos of our PJ DAY!

Snow Day

I spent yesterday afternoon ironing shirts. Now I hate to iron which is no secret, but I do get some satisfaction from ironing my 1 year olds shirts for school. It's a warped world I know... I felt a little ironing only for John Hunter, so I did do 4 of Eric's shirts. By the time we went to bed everyone's clothes were perfectly pressed and ready for today.

Well Old Man Winter had other plans. We have about 2 inches of snow which meant NO SCHOOL! John Hunter is spending the morning at Gigi and Granddad's while I work. I got him all bundled up and we took Tye out to potty. Of course I had to get some snow photos in the outfit from Nana.

What we've been up to...

Eric and I had a great time out of town this past weekend. Getting there was a little harder than expected. John Hunter came down with pink eye. Poor buddy did so well and we felt awful leaving him, but we knew he was in good hands.

We got home on Saturday night and just hung out the rest of the weekend. As you can see John Hunter had a fun time with daddy making capes. And he really enjoyed the box from his work bench that Aunt Sarah got him.

We have had a pretty normal week. John Hunter went to school on Monday and did a really funny thing. His "girlfriend" Raleigh had a bow in her hair. This was the first time he had ever seen here with one in her hair. He walked right over to her and patted her bow and said "OOOOOOH" like nice bow, you should wear one more often. All the teachers and parents cracked up. Oh the stories we will tale.

Yesterday we went to Harrodsburg to visit and my cousin Amanda and her husband Brett got him this cute tactor like Uncle Charlies and he just loves it.

The Grande Aunt B and Uncle Richard sent him this Thomas shirt and when I showed it to him he said "Choo Choo" and carried it around for a while. Eric and I were cracking up thinking what in the world goes on his head.
As many of you know he LOVES things that sing. So after we put all the Christmas ones away we were stumped as to what he would like. Gigi found this singing dog that plays "Ring of Fire" and the video will tell you the rest!

A new office

Since Eric and I have been married we have wanted office furniture. It never made it has a HIGH priority on our list. So we have settled for a 6 foot table given to us by my parents. This table has been old faithful. When Eric accepted the job as ASD he bought the desk from the guy before him. Now that Eric has moved offices again the new office come completely furnished. That left the desk for us to have. After much measuring and taking apart the desk has finally made it to 100 Kendall safe and sound. Dad and Eric did such a great job. I never really knew how bad we needed a desk until I saw how good the room looks with one.
Here is the brain trust putting the desk together. Here is the desk.
Here is the credenza. (obviously I have some decorating to do as well as organizing. But that is going to have to wait for a bit... or at least until Eric and I get back in town)

And we know that no blog would ever be complete without photos of John Hunter. The first pic is of Train Conductor JH in some overalls his Nana got him. Then we let him eat an apple while we were moving in the furniture. And when we went to check on him... here is what we found.
Eric and I are headed out of town for a MetLife thing. JH is staying at my parents and we will be home on Saturday... we are certain he will have a grand time.

A Day at the Dentist

As many of you know John Hunter has a VERY crazy tooth. It has been a concern of ours for some time so at his last Drs. appt. he suggested that we see the dentist. So today was the big day! His appointment was at 1:30 but the dentist was running a little late. All that to say it was an experience to remember.

He did okay brushing his teeth and exploring around. But the moment he had to lay back he kinda freaked out. He did not care for the gloves or the mask. They put fluoride on his teeth and then let him play with this HUGE stuffed dog that has a full set of grown up teeth. He brushed the poor dogs teeth over and over. The doctor came to look and confirmed what we thought. Not only is the tooth crooked it could not come in correctly because he has an extra tooth. They took xrays to confirm which throughly he hated, but once they were done we had our answers.

Not only do we have 1 extra tooth we have 2. One on each side. So what does this mean you ask? 99% of kids who have extra baby teeth have extra permanent teeth. We go back in six months to see how his teeth are coming in and at that point they will probably pull the extra teeth.

Oh well... I should have know my sweet son would become good friends with the dentist. She joked and said "I hope you all have good dental insurance" My response was we do, but you just met a goldmine!

When we got home we took some pics of the buddy and his new Baby Einstein toothbrush. Hopefully he will continue to enjoy brushing his teeth. He is going to need all the help he can get!

For the Grande Auntie

Here are a few new photo of John Hunter with my new camera. I am so excited to have it. The stories and pictures will be coming. This is a fun shirt that the Royal Auntie B got John Hunter for Christmas. He wore it today on his first day back to school. I have to say, he looked pretty darn cute! Hope you enjoy!
