Our new home...

We offically have a new home! Well we have a closing date! Nov. 20. I feel like there is a LOT to do between now and then, but we will get it done! We have been cleaning like crazy over there. The home was in foreclosure so to say it was "spick and span" would be the understatement of the year!

I will be so glad to have it all clean before we get in and start painting and moving! So here are some before pictures... hopefully the "after" pics will be MUCH better

*** John Hunter was VERY upset that we were leaving the vacuum in the basement for a bit! Poor kid, he gets in a twit over the SMALLEST things***

Kentucky 3rd Birthday

We had a wonderful time celebrating JH's 3rd birthday in KY. We went with the Lightning McQueen theme, and HE LOVED IT, which I guess is all that matters. For me it was so good to see friends and family all together in the same place. It felt like home! And oh how I love that feeling! JH had a grand time playing in Gigi and Grandad's backyard with all of his friends. They say a picture is worth a 1000 words so here are some pictures of the racing fun

I'm Sick.. Boo Hiss

I have to say going to teaching I knew it would come with sickness. And I got it... I am sick.

But I just need to take a minute to say HOW WONDERFUL MY PARENTS ARE. They drove up to Indy today from Lexington to pick JH from school and take him home to KY for a few days while I recover! Isn't that just amazing. Mom and Dad I truly don't know what we would do without you guys! We love you and appreciate EVERYTHING you do for us!

I love you Sock Monkey!

**Gigi loves the sock monkey too**

So John Hunter has been feeling under the weather and today we went to the doctor and he has a ruptured ear drum. We are hoping for a good nights sweet. But he did the sweetest thing today!

We were going to look at more houses (we have hit a snag in the one we have... LONG story saving for another time). And I was putting clothes on JH and then let him play. I was getting ready and he brought his BIG sock monkey upstairs and told me it was time to put the Sock Monkey to bed.

I peeked through his door and watched as he tucked the monkey in the bed, covered him up, and handed him a blanket! Then he kneeled down and started to pray, "Dear Lord, thank you for Titi, Big Larry, Little Larry, Lance, Austin, Diane, Josie and King Joseph, Troy Bolton, and Gabriella! Then he said, "may the Lord Bless you and keep you sock monkey, my he make his face shine one you:)

He kissed sock monkey's ear and walked out of the room... looked and me and say... AHHHH, and went back in the room and said, "I love you sock monkey" Turned on the sound machine and walked out the door!

Tell me that is not the sweetest thing ever. It is so sweet to see his little gifts forming. God has big plans for this little man and has truly given him a heart of compassion!!

Sooo... we have a house

IT is offically well miuns the pending inspection, bank, and ALLL the hoops that have to be jumped through in order to buy a house. We have a tentative closing of Nov. 20, but we are not sure if that will happen or not. The house needs a little TLC, paint, cleaning, new floors, and in case you are wondering, the outside is getting black shutters, black front door, and new light fixtures:)
This spring/ summer we will have our hands full with yard work, but we were up with the challenge... we will keep you posted on our home:) PRAISE THE LORD...
Yesterday as we left the house JH asked me what I was thinking about, I repsonded by saying I was counting my blessings. The LORD is truly good! Have you counted your blessings today?
These are pictures of the house with the previous owners stuff in it... it kinda helps to see the space :)

Birthday Party

I am so happy to report that the Sock Monkey Birthday Party went on without a hitch... well minus the flood warnings, but I am so happy we moved it inside a few days before. My poor little heart would not have handled a last minute decision.
Thursday I was a little stressed upon leaving work, Eric was taking a 3 hour test, the rain was coming, and I was overwhelmed. And who came to the rescue.. Gigi and Granddad. They got here at around 8:30 PM Thursday night, and provided much needed hands and moral support!
Friday was party day:) And we partied indeed!!! Friends, Family, and Fellowship are the key ingredients for a great party and we are so appreciative that we had all three...
I guess the best gauge of a a party is how a little 3 year old feels about it... last night during his prayers as he is sunggled in his new cars footed PJ's he prayed... thank you Jesus for my party... I had so much fun

Oh Humble Pie how I hate your taste...

Do you hate the taste of humble pie? I am writing this out the sincerity of my heart, and I know that 10 years from now it will not be a big deal nor will it be remembers, but I am stressed about it now.

When we moved to Indy I was extremely upset that we would not make any friends and that JH would not have any playmates. I voiced this opinion to Eric and he assured me over and over we would have friends, but if we did not MAKE one friend he would fly everyone up :) Well as you can imagine we have made friends and I cherish each one of them deeply!

John Hunter will be 3 next week, but his little birthday party is this Friday. I have had HUGE plans to have it at a wonderful place here, but when I started looking at cost it did not seem like it was the best use of our money (since we are in the process of buying a house). So i put on my big girl panties and came up with a plan B.

Holland Park is an amazing park here in Fishers and I was excited to do the party there... it was free, pizza ordered, I am making cupcakes, a few drinks, some favors and we were good to go. Well I am knee deep in sock monkey birthday party stuff, but my dears of my outdoor party has quickly been halted. There is a 95% chance of rain/thunderstorms on Friday. I called around to several places today but for 8 kids and $100 for a room again was not good stewards. I knew all along I could have the party here. Sure we have toys, a bounce house, etc. but this is not home... it is temporary. And to be honest I don't really want to have a birthday party here.... but the LORD ways are not ours!

So after many pep talks with mom and my friend Kelly we will turn this house into a sock monkey cage on Friday. I know it will be great... my little monkey is gonna love it... he is thrilled about his cupcakes, friends, and party. Tonight he even cried asking when is party was. Why do I as an almost 30 year old care what, where, and how my son has a party? ISN'T the point to celebrate HIS life? Not try and have the best party. I know my monkey is gonna love Friday, balloons, cake, friends, ice cream, etc. And can you believe he is gonna be 3...???

So humble pie was my dessert for tonight, I will open my home, as "so not like me" as it is, and celebrate 3 wonderful years the LORD has given me with my little one....
