Birthday for Me!

So as many of you know, my brithday is my most favorite day of the year! I love it! For so many reasons, but most important I just love it! This is my last year in my 20's AHHHH! I am so excited about this year and what it holds.

I have said since Christmas the one thing I want for my birthday is a new pair of running shoes, we will see if that happens! But Eric did so much better than running shoes....

WE ARE GOING TO NEW YORK!

*** I love that the MetLife Building is in this photo... You know Joe Jordan is so Glad I am coming, right babe? Oh, FYI metlife doesn't own that building anymore!**

We will be leaving for Disney next week (Wed.) and staying there through Monday the 9th (Eric's birthday). From Disney HE AND I will fly to NYC, can you believe it. I love that city, and that man! He is there on business, which is sad, but I am there on pleasure. What is a girl to do? Well here is my list of things to do:

1) see mary poppins
2) eat at tavern on the green (oh this is also our 5 year anniversary gift which is feb. 20... do you remember when Nick and Jessica went to tavern, that didnt end to well for them, but I love that place)
3) See my dearest friend Brandi Jane as much as possible
4) buy a knock of louise/ coach
5) get a new watch
6) sit and relax... by myself!
7) WHATEVER I WANT!

Where is my child going to be you ask? Well my awesome parents were going to drive him home from Disney, but it has always been a dream of dad's to see a shuttle launch. So for his birthday (15th... can you see we have a lot of holidays this month), they are staying in FL with JH at the beach for a few days and then taking him to the Space Center to see the shuttle launch! How cool is that???? What treat!

I could not be more excited! Now if you could just see my to do list... I have to pack for Flordia and NYC??? I better get on it! Oh well... YAY for my Brithday!

Makin' Whoopie Cookies

So John Hunter and I had a cookie making day yesterday! It was so much fun! The cookies are called Whoopie Cookies! They are super easy and super fun!

To make your own adventure:

  • 1 box Devil's Food Cake mix
follow instructions ** except ** add only 3/4 C of water and ADD 1 small pkg of instant chocolate pudding
  • Drop by small spoonfuls onto parchment paper lined baking sheets.
  • Bake at 350 for 8-10 mins... to over cook is better than to under cook. Trust me! Mine took closer to 1o mins and then I let them cool on the hot baking sheets. If you take them off too early they are gooey gobs of mess!
  • Let cool completely on parchment paper.
  • Load 'em up with buttercream frosting and for fun you can sprinkle some powdered sugar on top!
** I just cut out hearts and put them on the center of the cookies then sprinkled the powder sugar!***
Here are some pics along the way!

Kick Off 2009

I had a great time in Columbus on Friday/Saturday for the MetLife Kick off Meeting. It is a fun event that we look forward to every year! I drove up on Friday to meet Eric who was in meetings all day! I did take a detour stop on the outlet malls (so fun!)

Did a little shopping when I got to Easton, but not too much. It was so nice to relax, paint my nails, and take a little nap! We could not have done any of this without the help of Gigi and Granddad! Thanks a ton guys!

Friday night was the dinner/dance and as I always it was good to be with friends (my friend Joy is my partner in crime.... we are so kindly referred to as the Southern Twins). Which is really funny! We have tried to include other people, but it just doesnt seem to work out :0) I was so proud of Eric for all is rewards. Since he has taken over the Indy off they have seen a signifcate increase in production... and he was recognized for his hard work. We went out with our friends afterwards and had an excellent time with the exception of my painful shoes...but oh well!

A great time was had by all and I was thrilled to see my hubby... I cant wait to see him next weekend... Love you babe!

** the above pic is us from the event and Mark and wife Claudia. Mark works in the Indy office and he and Claudia were married LAST Friday. So fun to meet them****

Love at first sight

Today we went to dinner with my parents. We went to Schlotzky's... no idea if that is how you spell it! But all that to say, Hannah, was working. Hannah is one of the teachers in John Hunter's class and he LOVES her. She baby sits for us and life with Hannah makes it all better.

Well all that to say, she was working at the drive thru and he could not stop talking about her. To the point where he went and got a chair, pulled it right up to the counter, and just stared at her! He kept saying.... Hi Hannah, and then he would turn around and say, Look Mommy, Hannah!

How sweet it that!

We love you Hannah!

ps.. hannah is the girl in the photo at the register, with the long pony tail!

I mean seriously

So this morning I woke up to my child screaming at 5:10... this is not normal so I went and got him. It appeared he had a bad dream, so I brought him into bed with me. He was sort of in and out of sleep! At seven he kepr saying... mommy get up. So we get up and start to play tickle tackle!!! A fun game that he and his daddy play! So I got a finger in the eye during this game. Let me just say it hurt.... really bad, and we are going to leave this game up to daddy.

So all morning long it kept hurting. I was driving and I had to pull over because I could not see. I called and got an appointment. Well I just got home from getting 3 stitches in my eye and a huge patch. AHHHH! How annoying.! It is the same eye that the golf ball went into as well!!!

So I have a slew of antibotics and a beautiful patch, let me just say I will continue the drugs, but I will REMOVE the patch before the black tie event this weekend!!!!

Weekend ReCap

This weekend John Hunter and I went to Indy to spend the weekend with Eric! We had a great and eventful time. Thursday we just hung out and played and had a great time.

Friday when the fun started.... that night a log rolled out of the fire and burnt a hole through the rug and the carpet, the smoke detectors went off and the house smelled terrible!
Saturday we got up and started off on our errands. We started off at Menards (which is like lowes) we got a new rug (which by the way we let another log roll off and burn, but not as bad). We went to several stores and shopped. Came home and ate some pizza and took a nap. We got John Hunter down and we went to rest. We were resting and we heard this HUGE crash, thinking that JH fell out of the bed, but he was fine. When he woke up from his nap we went downstairs and when we hit the bottom step we walked into 2 inches of water and heard gushing. A water pipe broke and water was everywhere.... least to say it was a long night. We called the landlord, but it was still hard to get all done and we had no water for 24 hours!

Sunday was a day full of fun, church, and clean up. The best part of clean up was the the plumber was of latino decent and JH kept walking around calling him "handy manny"!!! OH my... it was wonderful to have water back on. Eric gave JH a bath and I headed to superTarget, retail therapy helped! We ate dinner and Eric and I watched StepBrothers.... so funny.

This morning we got up and packed our stuff. The zoo was have a special day in honor of MLK if you brought a canned good you got in free. It was cold but but so fun! JH loved it. At the penguins he started screaming "happy feet, happy feet". It was so cute. Oh and we touched sharks..... Here are some pics of the day!

After the zoo we went home and JH drove back to KY. It was sad to say goodbye to daddy, we will miss him tons! We are now home and settled, and watching the Bachelor!!!

(Semi) Wordless Wednesday

As you can see from my previous post tired, exhausted, and just plain worn out are the words I would use to describe how I am feeling right about now. Pile that on top of a WILD 2 year old who refused to nap today and lets just say I am hittin' the hay a little early and medicated tonight!

1) Here is what John Hunter looked like after lunch, which entailed an afternoon bath.... CLEARLY not planned

2) Here is where i found John Hunter after I was putting the laundry away today.... is it wrong to want to keep him there???

3) The dogs were playing on the frozen pond while outside... what would i have done if they fell through??

good night friends!

PS.... here are some cute pics of John Hunter and Ivy yesterday while dancing to "me me" or Cedarmont kids!

PSS.. this is how I want to wear my hear next weekend to the black tie event.... any thoughts?

I think I might need a new friend. I am averaging 3-4 hours a nighit, which is just not working for me. So I am praying for a GREAT day and a good nights rest.... I know that is an odd request since it is only 7:40 AM.... but I am feeling it!

Thankful Thursday Reinstated....

Its the first Thankful Thursday for the year.... how exciting is that, and we do have so much to be thankful for this week.

1) We have found a place to rent in Indiana. It was a long process, but we are happy (I saw we lightly because I have never been to this place). But I do that it is a house, that has a yard, and walking trail in the backyard, and a park across the street!!! So that will be great!

2) All that to say, we are taking a load up to Eric tomorrow. We have a 14 foot UHaul loaded and ready to go. Although I never thought i would get to this point this week, I am happy to say that there looks to be an end in sight! But that end would never have been possible without my parents. They have been AMAZING this week! They helped me pack, painted the walls, loaded the UHaul, and and driving up with me tomorrow to spend the weekend with us! How fun is that! Thanks Mom and Dad... we would be LOST without you!

3) Our realtor... our house went on the market today. So as you can imagine it has been a BIG week. But I am thankful to have that done and now in someone elses hands (thanks Miss Donna). So if you want a house.... I know of a great one!

4) 4 weeks from today.... WE WILL BE AT DISNEY!!!!

What a treat!!

So today I was checking my mail, which is something I love to do. And there was the a great surprise in there....almost better than being no bills!
Along with the shirt there was a typed note attached that said,

"thanks for loving your husband and expressing your love for him through your devotions"!!!

How fun is that! I wrote the devos for Southland this week, and it is all on love at first sight and the Song of Solomon!!! If you want to check them out you can do so here:

www.southlandchristian.org

So I am loving my shirt... I think it will look precious with a pink long sleeve tee underneath (oh the shirt is brown/pink) I plan on wearing it for Valentines day!!!

So a huge thanks to whoever you are... you made my day!

Oh my....

So today has been a semi hard day. We have had a great 2 weeks with daddy but today we had to say goodbye as he headed back Indy. I know it will only be a short while before we see him, but the reality hit as we have boxes piles up every where!!!

John Hunter was taking a bath tonight having a grand old time... giving Thomas a "car wash". Then I heard him singing as i was putting clothes away. I quickly got my camera and this is what we got.

**** Please excuse the nudity!!!!**** (... oh and my singing)!!!

Poor kid... all he wants is washed by the water... we may have to send this video to Need to Breath! Today I found myself on the way to the store by myself so I turned on the radio and the first song on was "WASHED BY THE WATER".... AHHHH! Least to say, I changed the station!

Minnestoa Good Byes and 2009!

We said goodbye to Minnesota this past Sunday, but not without some good times with great friends. Saturday Andrew and Jenni came of for a visit then we went to lunch with them. We love these guys. Andy and Eric have been best friends since 4th grade and I swear they could not talk for months and pick up right where they left off. That night we also went out with them again along with Andrews sister Allie, and Sarah, Anna, and Ben. We all went to Champs to watch the UFC fight... against the womens wishes, but we went! It was a great time had by all!Another highlight was the 3 iphones that were in use the ENTIRE time! Sarah and I got new iphones and what a fun treat they are. Eric was a great teacher on all the cool things they can do. I love this picture.... it sums up our last 48 hours in MN!Sunday morning we got up and started to hit the road to Indy. All was well besides I was throwing up everywhere. It made for a VERY long trip. I have never been so glad to see Indy in all my life.

Monday Eric worked and John Hunter and I explored the city a little and did some shopping. We drove home to KY that afternoon and were so glad to be home. I have to give a HUGE shout out to Gigi who cleaned my whole house and took all my Christmas decorations down. What a treat... THANK YOU!!!! That evening Nana and Big Daddy arrived for the night on the way to North Carolina. We had a good time with them as well.

So we are home safe and sounds.... and had so much fun ringing in 2009!!New Years Eve we went with some great friends The Purvis' and Pannell's for dinner and fun. We had a blast. We had a wonderful dinner at deShaes' then went to Cheapside and Rosebuds. We all had a blast people watching (lets just say that they should have closed the store DEB several years ago) and I had a wonderful time with the noise maker... Eric not so much! We also had a wonderfun saying.... "Bump n' Grind in 2009!!!!"""Much fun was had by all, and we are thrilled that 2009 is here. We have no idea what the LORD has in store for us this year, but we are willing to follow..... It's like John Hunter's song says, YAWAH... you go before me! That is what we are clinging to this year!
