Alphabet Soup... the letter H

************ UDATED**************

t Soup Letter "H"

It has been way too long since I did my last alphabet soup post....so here it goes!

Some of our favorite things that begin with the letter H.

1. Home- I am learning each day that home is more than your return address label. Now that we are completely out of our Kendall Lane house I went through am morning period where I felt homeless. Sure my parents house will always be home, and sure where Eric and John Hunter are will be home. But home... well we are sort of nomads right now. We are in the process of buying a house here in Indy... it is a LONG story, but are confident that God is faithful!

2. Hot Apple Cider -There is a cool nip in the air and nothing says fall to me like hot apple cider, my mother in law makes the best with cider, oranges, and cinnamon sticks... there is nothing more wonderful!

3. Handbags-So i could have a handbag for each day of the week and STILL not have enough. It is kinda a problem. I did just get a new Henry Brown Bag and I must say it screams fall and fun!!!

4. Horses- I am not sure if it is the fact that I was born and bred in the Bluegrass state, but something is to be said for Horses. I love their gentleness, their majesty, and their grander. They truly are amazing animals. I love driving in the car with John Hunter when he stops a horse, his little eyes light up and all seems right in the world!

5. Honesty -"And the truth will set you free". Enough said. Eric and I have been going through a BRUTALLY HONEST phase. Not sure if you and yours have every been through something like this, but is healthy and healing all at the same time. Honesty heals!

6. Hair products- I am a SUCKER for hair products, one time I brought the entire line of Big Sexy Hair, just because of the cool name. I will buy a product just because it is in a COOL bottle. The amount of hair products I have is amazing.. but I love them, and am a sucker for new ones:)

7. Hobby Lobby- Let me first say if you don't like Hobby Lobby...then don't come to my house. I love that place and it is evident in our decor. If you have NEVER been, come with me, I will get you hooked!

8. HEDGEAPPLES... mom and dad called me this morning and reminded me i forgot the MOST IMPORTANT "H" ever. Hedgeapples. Do you know what they are? They are those lime green, sappy, brainy looking things that fall from the trees during the fall season. Since my childhood I have loved them. They remind me of the Sunday drives to Harrodsburg to visit my Mamal and Papal (and those are some of my fondest memories) Look for hedgeapples, they will make you SMILE :)

What are your favorite things that begin with the letter "H"?

POST 300....

This is my 300th Post.. who knew! I didn't plan on noting this milestone, but here we are. Today I went to a "cooking" party. Where we mixed all the ingredients for 5 meals and then brought them home and froze them... how fun is that!

While there some ladies were talking about a reading list! So I thought I would put together my top 5 favorite reads. These are books that I meant a LOT to mean in different seasons of life.

1) Captivating by Stasi Eldridge
2) Sacred Marriage by Gary Thomas
3) Do you think I'm Beautiful? by Angela Thomas
4) Crazy Love by Francis Chan
5) Life Together by Dietrich Bonhoeffer

These are all excellent reads and I would even classify some as a must.

** On a side note I am working on some more "serious" post if you will... more than just what is going on each day in the White House... your prayers are appreciated!**

A Visit with Baby Kyah

We had a great trip to St. Louis to visit Anna, Ben, of course Kyah. However John Hunter was very sad we did not get to see Dixski (Dixie is the dog) Mommy and baby are doing great and I think they will adjust into parenting just fine:)

We cannot wait to see them again soon, we love you Kyah... !!

They call me...

In my life I have worn many titles: daughter, friend, grandchild, niece, cousin, second cousin, cheer captain, student, employee, Miss Kendra, Miss Zoeckler, fiance', sister in law, Mrs. White, daughter in law, wife, mother, and the list could go on.

But tomorrow the list changes. For the first time in my life I will add a new title to list. You can call me Auntie K or Aunt Kendra. Considering I have no siblings I have never been an aunt. Sure I have adopted SEVERAL of your children as my own nieces and nephews, and truly is has brought me SUCH joy. But tomorrow around 11 CST I will become an Aunt.

My sister is law is having a c section at that time and will bring my neice (40% chance nephew) into this world! I will keep you posted. JH and I are going down on Thursday... so be prepared for LOTS of pics:)

Weekend Recap Home

This weekend we went home and moved EVERYTHING out of our Kendall Lane house. It was bittersweet. More bitter than sweet at this point, but I do feel good knowing that it is ALL done! Along with the moving came several parties and playtime at Gigi's house. We got to have an AMAZING dinner with our best friends the Wainscott's organic cow and all. And we had so much fun until we started talking about bed bugs. And within minutes Eric and John were off to Lowes to buy the UV light that Dr. Oz recommends. And NO... they did not have one, but if they did I promise BOTH families would have been owners that night!
Eric left with a 26 Uhaul at 6 AM Saturday morning to head back here. We was nervous about the drive but made it. That left JH and I to play with Gigi and that we did! Thanks Gigi for the cowboy boots... we wear them well!
We helped celebrate Brady's first birthday. I remember being up at the hospital on the day he was born and it DOES not seem like that long ago. I looked at Jen and said, who would have thought when we were up in that room that I would be living in Indy and you would be moving to Charlotte. What a difference a year makes, and when you are obedient to the will of the Father. We are so blessed to know Brady and his amazing family and will forever consider them our lifelong friends!

Sunday it was good to be back at Southland and worship there. John Hunter got to go to the Zone (which was bitter sweet for me since I spent most of my 20's there) But I knew he was in good hands and it was so comforting to know. After church we went and celebrated at the Baby Shower of Payton Kendrick (my cousin's Seth baby) it was great to see everyone and a good time was had by all. Oh not to mention how cute all the baby girl stuff was.

After leaving the shower we headed to Raleigh Shuck's 3rd Birthday Party.... it was at Amerisports and we had a blast. John Hunter got his energy out and for sure worked off his sugar high. What a sweet time it was to celebrate with a true Princess. We love you Raleigh Bird!

First day/ week of School

So John Hunter and I had a great first day/week of school. Packing lunches, early risen' and getting in a routine has taken a toll on me, but I am slowly adjusting. We are thrilled with the school, I love his teachers (and so does he) and I love my students. Guess that is all you can ask for?

When I picked him up she said, "John Hunter just does have a competitive spirit?" Wonder what that means? Then his eyes were puffy and red and he was crying from where they are supposed to be "napping". I knew there was no way this would happen, and had already warned the teacher, but he did NOT like having to stay on his cot!
My classroom was great, I was exhausted at the end of the day and love those sweet little faces. What a blessing for my sweet friend Kelly to cook JH and I dinner that night since Eric was out of town, then it was girls night at Starbucks, while Kelly and Katie's husbands kept ALLLL the children. Mine included which cried when I left :( but it was a great way to end the day!
PS... I thought my wallet was stolen on this day as well and was SUPER bummed. However I misplaced it and it was upstairs the WHOLE time. I can be know to have too much on my plate:)

Weekend Weekend Weekend

We have had a busy weekend. I left for LEX on Thursday morning to pack the house and get John Hunter...

let me just take a moment and give a HUGE shout out to Gigi. The woman is a force to be reckoned with. Thank you for all your help, support, encouragement, and love... what would we do without you in our lives... OH and we are looking forward to Friday to see you again:)

We got a lot DONE and I am super thankful. We drove home yesterday in order to go to the Aaron Pelsue Band concert at our church. Let me say, my husband is obessed with this band, as well as my son. I am too.. but I think it is funny to watch the two of them. The LORD has really provided for us, Emily Pelsue (also in the band) has become a quick friend of mine. We share some Southern loves, love for Jesus, and we both adore our kiddos! I am so thankful for her. The concert was excellent, and the CD is AMAZING.

This song has spoken VOLUMES to our family. When we first went to E91 Aaron sang this song and I called the church several times to find out the the name of it. Words cannot express how much I love this song. We have listened to this song over and over... and I wanna give a shout out to how great Emily is on here!

Listen to the words and worship your Maker.

We also looked at more houses this weekend. We have narrowed it down to a couple here is our new favorite... so we will let you know how it goes.
We are eyeball deep in football this weekend and the house has GOT to be cleaned. Not sure when that is gonna happen, but it is making me go stir crazy, however I have no desire to to it... oh well! It will get done:) Right???

So behind

I am not sure why my blogging has lacked, but i do want to apologize. I have officially started work... and it is a little overwhelming and nerve wrecking, but i am getting through a day at a time:) We have had a great last week.

My parents came up for a visit, which was super exciting. They went to Conner Prairie Symphony and had a blast. They gave us rave reviews, so next year we will be joining them for sure. Along with their visit we went house hunting. We looked at two houses that we love. Both are different but both would be perfect fits for our family. The reason we were able to look at houses is because we RENTED OUR HOSUE IN KENTUCKY!!! Praise the Lord. October 1 is the day, so we are trying to find the perfect house here.
When mom and dad left for KY they took a little stowaway with them... John Hunter that is. He is with them for the week. It sounds like they have had tons of fun and done tons of playing. Eric and I miss him bad, but we have had walks, dates, late night movies, and just plain rest. We appreciate it more than you will ever know! Thanks Gigi and Grandad.

Here are some pictures we recently had done of JH... I love them!

TOmorrow my students come for a walk through and I am anxious to meet each of their smiling faces :)
