Welcome to the Neighborhood

Welcome to the Neighborhood! We had some new neighbors moved in this weekend so we wanted to welcome them to the neighborhood! So what better way to welcome someone than food. As of late John Hunter is just like his daddy and HE LOVES to be in the kitchen! So he is helping me make these buttermilk pies! Here's the recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine, softened
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (9 inch) deep dish pie crust

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C.)
  2. In a large bowl, cream margarine and sugar. Beat in flour and salt. Blend in the eggs. Stir in the buttermilk and vanilla. Pour into pie shell.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, then reduce temperature to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and bake 45 minutes, or until filling is set.

Eric and I have been really taking ahold of opportunities to be the church in our neighborhood. We have an AWESOME neighborhood, and we have great neighbors. We are trying to reach out it so many ways! Last night we invited some neighbors to go out to eat dinner, we had a blast and got on the subject of church. They asked if they could come with us today, and they did! How fun is that! There little girl is the sweetest thing and all smiles and she had a great time in nursery which was great!
